2. Local-First Processing (The “Magic” USP)
Magic Files performs all operations—including compression, conversion, scanning, and editing—locally on your hardware using built-in C/C++ libraries (JNI). No Cloud Uploads: We do not use third-party APIs or cloud services to process your files. Offline Functionality: The app does not require an internet connection to perform its core file operations. No File Caps: Because processing is local, there are no file size limits imposed by server bandwidth.
3. Permissions and Data Usage
To provide our “Magic” features, the application requires specific device permissions strictly related to functionality and user experience.
4. Data Collection and Third-Party Services
While we do not see your files, we use a few industry-standard tools to ensure the app runs smoothly. Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics collect anonymous, non-identifiable technical data such as crash logs, device models, and feature usage patterns to help improve app stability and performance. No personal file data is ever sent to Firebase. Google Play Update API is used only to notify users when newer versions of the app are available.
5. Data Retention and Security
Since all file operations occur locally, Magic Files does not store your files on any external servers. Your processed files remain entirely on your device until you choose to delete them. By keeping data local, Magic Files eliminates many common server-side privacy risks such as man-in-the-middle attacks and cloud storage breaches.
6. Children’s Privacy
Magic Files does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information. The application is designed to be safe for all audiences, including students and professionals.
7. Future Monetization
Magic Files is currently free and ad-free. If advertisements or monetization services such as Google AdMob are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to clearly explain how those services may handle non-personal identifiers for ad delivery.
